Schools Out!  Now, To Entertain the Kids!

Schools out! Now we have basically 2 ½ months of trying to find ways to cheaply entertain our children…The nice thing is, you really don’t need to go too far!

Here are a few ideas:

The Lumina in Southern Village, Chapel Hill. offers a Summer Kids Series. Doors open at 9:30 and the movies start promptly at 10. $2.00 per child and adults are FREE (that doesn’t happen often). For $10.00 you can buy a seasons pass…What a GREAT deal! Also, $2.00 can buy small popcorn and a small soda. Here is this summer’s line up:

AMF FREE BOWLING in Durham, Cary, or Raleigh:

I like this because it includes exercise and no one really thinks about it since they are having fun! This year, no coupons are needed but you do need to register. Kids can play 2 games per day, every day through Sept. 2nd. Remember, you do still have to pay for the shoes….

Summer Activities in Raleigh

Lastly, one of my favorites is to pack a lunch and take a day trip to Raleigh:

NC Museum of Natural Science is FREE as are many other of the museums in the area. While you are there, check out our state Capitol or stop by the Farmer’s Market! (Don’t forget Pittsboro has a Farmer’s Market on Thursdays, April-November 3:30-6:30 pm at the Fairgrounds) Here is a link for other ideas for day trips to Raleigh:

Enjoy your bonding time; they grow so fast!
